According to new rules, passengers traveling in sleep class will be allowed to carry luggage up to 40 kg without having to pay extra. Likewise, a passenger traveling in second grade will be allowed to carry 35 kg of baggage, while those who travel in first grade AC, will be allowed to bring with 70 kg of baggage.
All of these limits can be increased by paying extra, such as additional luggage costs by various airlines.
The report states that those found traveling with suitcases that do not order or excessive, will be asked to pay six times the luggage level. For example, if someone travels 500 km with excess luggage 40 kg, they can order it with a luggage van by paying only INR 109. However, if they are caught with a suitcase that does not order and excess during the trip, they can attract penalties from INR 654 .
