Police Canada Capital Reclamation After Trucker ‘Anti-Vaccine Protests Ended

Ottawa: The last big rig was withdrawn weeks from the capital city of Canada, where the streets were quiet for the first time almost a month after a massive police operation ended the siege compiled by protesters who opposed health rules.
Large cleaning is underway in downtown Snowy Ottawa, where the police at Gear Riot faced the demonstrators led by truck drivers for two full days, finally made them out of the protest hub outside the parliament.

“I am very happy to have a city I returned,” Jeff Lindley, who lived and worked in the city center, told AFP. “It’s much better today, quieter and calmer without the presence of all trucks and protesters.”

Some protesters stayed at the end of Saturday night, singing the ’80s protest parliamentary songs and triggered fireworks outside the four-meter security fence which was established in a hurry (13 feet) surrounding the parliamentary office.

But the protest parties shouted last trembled due to freezing in gripping the city.

The initial week, the police were checkpoints that limited access to the city center of 500 hectares (200 hectares), while considerable strength remained on standby to maintain the reclaimed land of the truck driver.

Meanwhile, the crew lowered the last tents, food stands and other emergency structures founded by demonstrators, and cleaned the snow from the streets in preparation for local businesses to reopen.

For the first time in a few weeks, residents of Ottawa were not awakened by the unrelenting horn which had become the main ingredient of protests.

Dave Chapin, came out and about for the first time in a few weeks after feeling “surrounded,” giving a thumbs up to the police who patrolled the city center.

“People have the right to protest, but at the end of the day after you make your points, you go home,” he said. “These people only live – sound and intimidate (locals) and disrupt our lives.”

“These past weeks have been absolute,” he added.

Continue to struggle

Refusing to acknowledge defeat after being removed, many protesters tell AFP they will continue to press their goals.

“Protests will last forever in my heart,” Nicole Craig said when he headed home Saturday night.

Although pandemic health rules in Canada have subsided because the figures of the trend under the trend, protesters continue to call for a full appointment, which has become the most rigorous in the world.

The Government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau temporarily faced a lawsuit from the civil liberties and pushback from political rivals on the decision to bring up emergency forces which are rarely used to take action against protest protests.

Trudeau himself keeps the distance when the police operation is opened, refraining from public comments.

The convoy began a month ago as a protest against the compulsory Covid-19 vaccine to cross the US border. It has inspired copycats in other countries, with Washington be patient for the possibility of protest the truck driver to coincide with the address of the unity next week by President Joe Biden.

The Canadian convoy triggers an economically damaging blockade on the US border, including a bridge which is the main transit point between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. The police cleared the blockade a week ago.
