The Russian prosecutor asked the court to give a meta name as a ‘extremist organization’: report

The prosecutor has asked the Russian court to appoint the Facebook META Platform for Facebook organizations as “extremist organizations,” Interfax reported on Friday.

The state prosecutor also asked for Russian communication watchdog to limit access to Instagram Meta social network services.

Reuters reported on Thursday that Meta would allow Facebook and Instagram users in several countries to request violence against Russia and Russian soldiers in the context of Moscow’s invasion to Ukraine.

Other Russian news agencies, TASS, reported that Russian investigators had opened a case of meta actions.
