“Very Hard Situation”: Actor Rebel Wilson Reacts To “Outing” Controversy
Sydney: Actor Rebel Wilson said an Australian newspaper had placed it in a “very difficult situation” after fans accused the publication of suppressing him to express his relationship with a woman.
The actor ‘Pitch Perfect’ has posted a selfie with his “Disney Princess” partner to Instagram on Friday, the day before Sydney Morning Herald reported it was known about the relationship and gave Wilson for two days to comment.
On social media, LGBTQIA+ activists and others accuse the newspaper forced Wilson – who did not openly express his sexuality – to himself.
The Herald denied pressing Wilson, and said that “just asked a question”.
In his first comment about the controversy, Wilson responded on Sunday to a Twitter user who accused the maid of giving a two -day notification that they would leave the actor.
That is a very difficult situation but trying to handle it with grace,” Tweeted Wilson.
According to the newspaper, his gossip columnist had asked Wilson’s question about his relationship “with a lot of hearts and respect”.
A big mistake. Wilson chose to circle the story, posting about his new ‘Disney Princess’ on Instagram Friday morning,” wrote Columnist Andrew Hornery in an article published Saturday.
As anger built on social media, Herald Editor Bevan Shields defended columns.
We will ask the same question if Wilson’s new couple becomes a man,” Shields wrote.
This is not the first time Wilson has been fighting with Australian media – in 2017, he was awarded a record of AUS $ 4.7 million ($ 3.3 million) Payment of pollution advanced in Hollywood.
After the magazine publisher succeeded in appealing, Wilson’s award was revised to $ 600,000.
