US Warns Russia Of “Catastrophic Consequences” If Nuclear Weapons Used
The United States will firmly respond to the use of Russian nuclear weapons against Ukraine and has outlined Moscow “Disaster Consequences” to be faced, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said today.
Mr Sullivan’s statement represented the latest American warning after the hidden nuclear threat made by Vladimir Putin last Wednesday in a speech where the Russian President also announced the military mobilization of the first war in his country since the second world war.
If Russia crosses this limit, there will be consequences of disasters for Russia. The United States will respond firmly,” Jake Sullivan told the NBC “Meet The Press” program.
Mr Sullivan did not describe the nature of the US response planned in his comments today but said the United States had personally been for Moscow to be elaborated in more detail exactly what it means.” Mr. Sullivan said that the United States had often made direct contact with Russia, including over the past few days to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the actions and threats of Russian President Putin.
US President Joe Biden in his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday accused Vladimir Putin of making “open nuclear threats to Europe” recklessly ignoring the responsibilities of nuclear nonproliferation.
Russia also conducted a referendum in four areas of East Ukraine with the aim of annexing the territory taken by Russian troops during their invasion to Ukraine which was launched in February. Ukraine and its allies said the referendum was fake designed to justify the escalation of the war and drive of Putin’s mobilization after losing the new battlefield.
By combining the regions of Luhanansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to Russia, Moscow can describe the attack to recapture them as attacks on Russia itself, a warning for Ukraine and his Western allies.
After experiencing a setback on the battlefield, Putin mobilized 300,000 troops while also threatened to use “all available ways” to protect Russia. This is not a cliff,” President Putin said in a statement that was seen on the world stage as a threat to the potential use of nuclear weapons.
Mr. Sullivan said on Sunday: “Putin still intends … to destroy the Ukraine people who he does not believe in having the right to exist. So he will continue to come and we must continue to come with weapons, ammunition, intelligence and all support that can be We give it. “
