Ukrainian War: The body of more than 900 civilians found in Kyiv, say officials
Andriy Nebytov, head of the Kyiv regional police force, said the bodies had been left on the streets or remembering temporary burial. He quoted the police data that showed that 95% of the victims had died of sniper wounds and gunshot wounds.
The body of more than 900 civilians was found in the Kyiv area after the withdrawal of Russian troops, said the regional police chief in the Friday briefing.
Andriy Nebytov, head of the Kyiv regional police force, said the bodies had been left on the streets or remembering temporary burial. He quoted the police data that showed that 95% of the victims had died of sniper wounds and gunshot wounds.
“As a result, we understand that under work (Russia), people are executed on the streets,” said Nebytov. “The number of civilians killed has surpassed 900 – and I emphasized, this was a civilian, whose body had found and was handed over for forensic examination.”
He added that more bodies were found every day, under the rubble and in bulk graves.
“Most victims are found in Bucha, where there are more than 350 bodies,” he said.
According to Nebytov, the utility of workers in Bucha has gathered and buried the body on the outskirts of Kyiv while remaining under Russian control. Nebytov added that Russian forces “track” people who expressed strong pro-Ukrainian views.
