The latest satellite images show large Russian buildup near Ukraine
New Delhi: New satellite images of Russia’s spread around the Ukrainian border showed an increase in military activity in the past 48 hours. A large buildup came amid fears that Russia would attack Ukraine.
The high-resolution Maxar satellite image was filmed over the past 48 hours showed a large buildup of Russian troops in Belarus, Crimea, and West Russia.
This new activity includes the arrival of several large troop contingents and attacked helicopters. The pictures also showed the spread of land attack aircraft and jet bombs on the floor forward.
Some land force units have left the existing garnisoners and can be seen in the convoy formation with other combat units.
The area where Russia has increased its strength mostly located in the north and northeast of Ukraine. It also includes large airbase to Southeast Ukraine and in Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
On February 10, a large number of troops and equipment were seen in the Oktyabrskoye Crimea airfield.
Efforts to ease the crisis in Ukraine through the madness of telephone diplomacy so far failed to ease tensions, with US President Joe Biden warned that Russia faced “fast and severe costs” if the troops continued with the invasion. Some European countries are still in talks with Moscow, making diplomatic efforts to relieve tension.
Western leaders consider Russian troops to become the worst threat to continental security since the Cold War and have prepared a paralyzed economic sanctions package in responding to attacks on Ukraine – even though Moscow has said it has no plan.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has received a planeloads from military assistance from the NATO country allies to sustain its defenses. On Sunday, Ukraine received the first delivery of stinger anti-aircraft missiles.
