Russia War Ukraine Direct: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin on Friday after months refused contact with his colleagues in America. But officials said the call did not seem to signify changes in the Moscow War in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, India Abstain in the UN Human Rights Council regarding the resolution of the deteriorating human rights situation in Ukraine originating from Russian aggression, where the council reiterated its demand for direct termination of military hostility. Geneva-based council on Thursday closed the 34th special session after adopting a resolution. The resolution was adopted with a supporting vote 33, China and Eritrea gave votes against and 12 abstains, including India, Armenia, Bolivia, Cameroon, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Namibia, Pakistan, Senegal, Sudan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela.
The Head of the European Union Foreign Policy Josep Borrell said on Friday that the block would provide military support worth 500 million euros to Ukraine and that he was sure the agreement could be achieved in the coming days to approve the embargo on Russian oil. Meanwhile, Ukraine officials said their troops released other Russian ships in the Black Sea.
