“Not real diplomacy”: US refused the offer of Russian talks with Ukraine
Moscow: The United States on Friday fired the offer of Russian talks with Ukraine, and asked Moscow to show his commitment to diplomacy by attracting troops from the country.
After attacking Ukraine, “Now we see Moscow suggest diplomacy takes place at the pistol barrel. This is not a real diplomacy,” said the Ned Price Department Department spokesman.
The Kremlin said on Friday that President Vladimir Putin was ready to send delegates to Capital Belarus Minsk for talks with Ukraine, because Russian forces approached Kyiv on the second day of Moscow’s invasion.
While Ukraine did not officially answer, the US also noted that the discussion would be held in Belarus, a close Russian allies that had allowed Russian forces to use their territory to attack Ukraine.
Prices said that, since before the invasion, Moscow was only involved in “crafts of diplomacy.”
“We and our allies call for a real diplomatic solution from the first day. If President Putin is serious about diplomacy, he knows what he can,” said the price told reporters.
“We want to explain to President Putin that diplomacy with a pistol barrel, coercive diplomacy is not something we will take part, and not something that will end this conflict in a real, sincere and sustainable manner.”
