Handwriting books at 8 years now have a waiting list for years in the library
An eight-year-old child in the state of Idaho uses children’s books and quietly sneaks into the local library shelf without permission. Immediately, the book became a hit with the reader and now this book has a long wait list. Dillon Helbig, a second grade student who lives in Idaho, finished writing the story of the Christmas adventure in his notebook in mid-December. He wants people to read it so he hatches plans and waits to do it. During a visit to the library at Boise the city with his grandmother, he quietly slipped the 88-page book to the children’s bookshelf. No one saw him doing it, even his grandmother.
However, then, Dillon Helbig told his mother, Susan Helbig, about it. Two days later, they went to the library but the book was gone. They called the library to urge them not to throw it away. The library said this book – titled “The Adventures of Dillon’s Crisis” – has won the WHOODINI 2021 award for the best young novelist, the library category made for him.
The Alex Hartman Library manager told Washington Post, “it is a cunning action.” But the book was “too clearly a special item for us to consider getting rid of it,” Hartman added. This book has a list of 55 people in the library, which allows customers to hold books up to four weeks.
“Sneaky Law” Dillon Helbig has also received praise from Christopher Burgess, now a writer who works with a central intelligence agency for more than 30 years. “I know the three-letter agents are always looking for people with skills like Dillion,” said Mr Burgess.
“This is cool. We need more children like Dillon, and more books written by children in this world,” said one user.
On the Library Facebook page, someone wrote, “Okay, how do you get a copy? The world needs a Dillon book.”
Others say that this story needs to “go viral” and he hopes everyone to share it and ask their friends to share.
